Core Responsibilities
– Ensure uninterrupted material availability across projects through advance planning, timely procurement, and strict follow-up on deliveries.
– Drive vendor identification, evaluation, and development for pipes, valves, fittings, civil and MEP materials, ensuring reliability and competitive pricing.
– Control procurement costs by effective negotiation, rate finalization, and adherence to project budgets without compromising quality or timelines.
– Own the end-to-end purchase cycle — from requirement validation, quotation comparison, order placement, to delivery and closure.
– Enforce vendor discipline by monitoring commitments on delivery timelines, quality standards, and commercial terms.
– Coordinate closely with site teams to align material planning with execution schedules and avoid delays or overstocking.
– Maintain strict control over inventory movement, ensuring optimum stock levels and minimizing wastage, pilferage, or excess procurement.
– Ensure accuracy and completeness of procurement documentation, including POs, invoices, GRNs, and vendor records.
– Resolve supply chain issues proactively, including delays, shortages, and vendor disputes, ensuring no impact on project progress.
– Support project cost monitoring by tracking material consumption and highlighting deviations from planned budgets.
– Liaise with logistics and transporters to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of materials to project sites.
Qualifications:
– Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical preferred)
– Additional exposure to materials management / procurement practices will be an advantage
– Exposure to ERP environment
Experience:
– 10–15 years in procurement / material management for WSS / UGSS / Infrastructure projects
– Strong hands-on experience in handling pipes, valves, fittings, civil & MEP materials
– Proven exposure to vendor handling, rate negotiation, and project-based procurement
